He is Oji-Cree, Sucker Clan of the Sandy Lake First Nation a remote fly-in community in the far reaches of Northwestern Ontario. Nominated for a 2023 JUNO Award for Contemporary Indigenous Group or Artist of the Year and the first Indigenous artist to reach number one on the Mediabase Canada Alternative Rock chart in history (March 2023) for "Nomads.” Aysanabee (he/him), born Evan Pang, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter currently based in Toronto. She holds a PhD in Biological Oceanography and is particularly interested in how ecosystems react to and recover from human caused disturbance. Agnes Mittermayr is a marine ecologist at the Center for Coastal Studies specializing in the ecosystems on the bottom of the ocean. Have you ever wondered what lives down below the water? Agnes Mittermayr will talk about the unexpected biodiversity of invertebrates around the Lower Cape (or CACO), show pictures of microscopic animals that we share our beaches with and explain how the physical world influences biological patterns. In the event of rain, outdoor programs will be moved indoors unless rain dates are listed. Indoor programs are in the air-cooled auditorium, and doors open at 6:30 pm. For outdoor programs held at the Salt Pond Amphitheater, bench and lawn seating are available, picnicking is welcome, and bug spray is suggested. It's one square mile rich with history-native Punonakanits, Pilgrims, sea captains, shore whaling, religious revival meetings, salt works, and an island-born entrepreneur who first brought bananas from Jamaica to the US.
